Microsoft Surface Specialist Dubai: Usman Shafique
Lead Surface Technician · 13+ years on the Surface bench
Usman Shafique has spent the last 13+ years repairing Microsoft Surface devices for Dubai customers, from Surface Pro 3 to the new Pro 13 5G. He signs off every board-level repair and Type Cover port reconstruction that leaves the Microsoft Surface Repair Dubai bench.
His specialty is the hardest Surface work: liquid-damaged motherboards, hinge mechanism rebuilds, Surface Connect pin re-bonding, and Hub enterprise on-site service. If a Surface can be saved, he's the one who saves it.

Specialties
Hinge & mechanism rebuilds
Surface Book detach clipboard, Surface Studio Zero Gravity, Surface Pro kickstand. Full mechanism rebuilds, not just adjustment.
Liquid-damage board recovery
Ultrasonic-clean motherboards from spills, condensation, and pool water. Most data recovers; success rate depends on how quickly the device was powered off.
Surface Connect port re-bonding
Worn or bent Surface Connect pin arrays. Re-bonded with hot-air rework rather than full-board replacement, which costs far less.
Surface Pro Type Cover ports
Diagnose and replace failing Type Cover contact assemblies. Pro 6 and Pro 7 are the most common; Pro 8 onward use a different connector that fails less often.
Surface Hub enterprise service
On-site service for Surface Hub 2S and Hub 3. Bookable as a one-off or under AMC for offices running 5+ Hubs.
Same-day OEM screen replacement
Genuine Microsoft display assemblies stocked for all common Pro and Laptop models. Most screen swaps done in 90 minutes at the lab.
Track record on the bench
- 2013
Started Surface-only repair
Took the bench at Azizi Technologies LLC, working only on Microsoft Surface devices.
- 2017
Surface Book detach mechanism specialty
Surface Book detach-clipboard repairs became a signature. The discrete-GPU base teardown is harder than most Apple repairs and requires a specific solenoid jig.
- 2019
Surface Hub enterprise on-site
Started servicing Surface Hub 55″ and 84″ at Dubai boardrooms. Built the on-site Hub repair process: full board work in the customer's location instead of removing 85″ panels.
- 2024
Concord Tower flagship lab
Moved to Concord Tower, Office 45, Al Sufouh 2. Lab now includes a Class-100 clean tent for camera/digitizer work and a hot-air rework station for Surface Connect re-bonds.
- 2026
Copilot+ PC and Snapdragon X
Currently building out the Copilot+ PC service workflow for Surface Pro 11/12 and Laptop 7 Snapdragon. ARM repair is materially different from Intel and requires firmware-specific tooling.
