Frequently Asked
Surface Book Repair Questions
Answers from our Dubai workshop on Surface Book repairs across 6 models (2015 – 2020).
Yes, this is a Surface Book specialty. Whether the tablet won't release from the base or won't lock back in, we diagnose and repair the magnetic latch system. Repairs.
Yes, we repair discrete GPU failures in the keyboard base of Surface Book 2 and 3. This is a complex repair depending on the specific GPU model.
Usually, yes. Surface Book is discontinued, and Microsoft's paid battery replacement service is not offered in the Middle East and Africa. We repair at component level and confirm which parts are obtainable for your model before you commit. The diagnosis is free.
Surface Book has two batteries, one in the tablet and one in the base. The base battery often fails first because it bears the GPU's power load. We replace base batteries with 90-day warranty.
It depends on the model and damage. A Surface Book 3 with a single major issue (battery, screen, detach) is usually worth repairing because replacement value is still high. We give honest advice during free diagnostic.
Most repairs (battery, screen) are completed within 24-48 hours. dGPU repair and detach mechanism work may take 3-5 days due to parts sourcing. We confirm timeline at quote stage.
