Surface Pro (11th Edition) is Microsoft's 13-inch Copilot+ PC tablet, sold with either a Snapdragon X processor or, for business, an Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processor. Its Copilot+ features run on a built-in NPU, while Recall and some other features need specific settings before they work. This owner's guide is built from Microsoft's spec and support pages, so you can check which model you have, what it supports and what can be repaired.
Which Surface Pro 11th Edition Do You Have?
Microsoft sold two processor families under the same name, and the difference matters for apps, drivers and repairs. You can see the processor name in Settings under System > About.

Both use a 13-inch PixelSense Flow touchscreen at 2880 x 1920 with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, in an OLED or LCD version. Both have two USB-C ports with USB4, a Surface Connect port and a 165-degree kickstand.
Copilot+ PC Features and What They Need
Microsoft groups several Windows features under the Copilot+ PC name. Availability varies by device, market and language, and some arrive through Windows updates, so keep Windows Update current.
- Recall lets you find something you saw earlier by searching snapshots of your screen. It is off by default. Microsoft lists the requirements as a Copilot+ PC with a 40 TOPS NPU, 16GB of memory, at least 50GB of free storage, Device Encryption or BitLocker turned on and Windows Hello with at least one biometric sign-in. Snapshots are encrypted and stored on the device. Turn it on at Settings > Privacy & security > Recall & snapshots, where you can also pause it or delete snapshots.
- Click to Do offers actions on images and text on your screen. Microsoft notes some actions vary by region and language, and some need a subscription.
- Improved Windows search lets you describe a file instead of remembering its exact name, in a set of supported languages.
- Live captions with translation is available on Copilot+ PCs running Windows 11 24H2 or later, and Microsoft says the audio is processed on the device.
- Windows Studio Effects on the front camera adds automatic framing, portrait blur and eye contact, among other effects.
If a feature is missing, check Windows Update first, then the requirements above, then your region and language settings.
Snapdragon Models and Your Apps
Snapdragon models run Windows on Arm. Native Arm apps run directly, and Microsoft lists Microsoft 365, Chrome, Zoom and WhatsApp among them. Apps built for Intel and AMD run through Microsoft's emulator, Prism. Microsoft's Arm FAQ lists the limits worth knowing before you rely on a specialist app:
- Drivers must be built for Arm, so some printers, scanners and older accessories need an Arm64 driver.
- Games that use anti-cheat drivers not updated for Arm might not run.
- Some antivirus and customisation tools vary in support.
- Windows Fax and Scan is not available.
The Intel models avoid these limits because they run standard Windows.
Charging, Keyboards and Pen
- Charging. Use Surface Connect or either USB-C port. Microsoft lists fast charging with a 65W Surface power supply or a USB-C PD charger rated at 60W or higher. In some markets a 39W supply is in the box, and some configurations ship without one.
- Keyboards. Microsoft lists the Surface Pro Flex Keyboard, Surface Pro Keyboard (with and without pen storage), Surface Pro Signature Keyboard and both Surface Pro X keyboards as compatible. The Flex Keyboard has a built-in haptic touchpad.
- Pen. The device is designed for Surface Slim Pen (2nd Edition), which stores and charges in the Flex Keyboard and the Pro Keyboard with pen storage.
Looking After It in Dubai
Microsoft designs Surface devices to work between 0 and 35 degrees C, and heat ages the battery. Keep it out of parked cars and direct sun, let it cool before charging, and turn on Battery Limit if it lives on a desk plugged in all day. More on this in the Surface Pro battery replacement guide.
What Can Be Repaired
Microsoft describes the 11th Edition as more repairable, and its spec pages list replaceable components including the display module, removable SSD, battery, motherboard, Surface Connect port, thermal module, speakers, cameras, buttons and kickstand. Microsoft also warns that opening a device carries risks, and that damage caused during a repair is not covered by its limited hardware warranty unless the law requires it.
Two things to have ready before any repair:
- Your BitLocker recovery key, which is saved to your Microsoft account on a personal device.
- Your Windows password or PIN.
